Jim Thomson's previous inventions and products, such as SATcase (a mobile satellite communications device for smartphones) created in 2013, was hailed as both “revolutionary and groundbreaking” as well as making “practical sense”. 

 

Since August 2015, after leaving SATcase, Jim has pursued new interests and has again focused his attention on innovative products. 

 

J-design is his studio for unique product spin-offs like Gidgit®, the Cabinet Hinge Repair Kit for kitchen, bathroom & bedroom cabinets which is now selling world-wide.

The J-design, carbon-case has been a labour of love, taking more than a year to perfect a concept ready to bring to market. Born out of his own need for an answer to solve a problem he was living with daily, as a “creative”, Jim conceived the idea after an exhaustive search for a solution that did not exist and once again made  “practical sense”.
